 Office Hours Church office hours are Monday through Thursday from 9 - 4:00. You may leave messages at other times at  651-5990 or call Pastor Sue direct at  (989) 287-1770. First United Methodist Church is located at 200 Pleasant St.  in downtown Sturgis. Parking is available south of the building as well as north of the church in the city parking lot and behind the church in the Hackman Funeral Home parking lot. The entrance on the circle drive is the accessible entrance and barrier free with greeters and use of elevator and restrooms. Additional information about the church can be found on the  church’s Facebook page . Worship Times

The 9:30 service is worship with the Praise Band; Reconciled, offering a contemporary service with Christian music and the pastor preaching. 

The 11:00 service worships with preaching, the choir, hymns and organ music. .

Communion is held the first Sunday of each month. 

Men's Bible Study every Monday morning 8:00 am in the Parlor ​.

•  Greeters and Liturgists/Scripture Readers  - The sign-up sheets for the month of April for both services are on the board.

• Newsletter Postage : - If you would like to help with postage for the newsletters, the cost is $60 per month. The sign-up sheet is on the board. 

• Altar Flowers -  Sign-up sheets for the Sundays in 2026 are on the board outside the sanctuary. The cost is $50. You can pay by using the Vanco link posted above  or  you can also use the camera in your phone to scan this QR code. It will take you directly to the Altar Flowers place to pay for the flowers.

• Returnable Bottles and Cans  - We are continuing to collect clean Michigan returnable bottles and cans. The money goes into our " Water For Life fund."  You may drop off your bottle and cans inside the circle drive doors by the wooden container. They must be washed and clean of any debris.

• Clothing Sanctuary  - We continue to accept donations of clean, usable clothing, shoes, bedding, and towels. You may drop off items on Wednesday mornings from 9:00 am - noon. The clothing sanctuary is open on Tuesdays from 3:00 - 5:00 pm and on Fridays from Noon - 2:00 pm. We welcome volunteers on any of those days!!!! If you would like to volunteer to help, contact Robin Schuler, Mike Johnson, or Lance Goodlock.

• Chit-Chat Coffee  - Join us for coffee, tea, and snacks from 10:15 - 11:00 am in the Gathering Room. Come and visit with other members of the congregation from both services. If you would like to help with chit-chat coffee, please talk to Marcia Harrington.

We are excited to announce that our Clothes Sanctuary is open, in coordination with St. John's Episcopal Church. ​We invite you to join our volunteers. Currently, we are open to collect clean  clothing on Wednesdays from 9:00 - noon. 

We are open for guests on Tuesdays from 3:00 -5:00 And Fridays from noon - 2:00

 Volunteers are welcome, as we need intake workers, sorters, and Friday helpers. Thank you for supporting our mission. Prayer List 

We are completely updating our prayer list. We will be publishing this each month. This list will only be in the newsletter. The names will not be on our web page or facebook page.

Name of person to be on the prayer list 3. Reason (This info is for Pastor Sue.) 4. Any other information Pastor Sue should know.

Thank you to our Mission Team who spent a week in  Iowa helping others in need. 

Tables of Six

This group will meet once a month, from 12:30-1:30 in the Fellowship Hall. Gatherings will be the first Sunday of the month. The goal is to grow deeper relationships through small group discussions and activities. Jan Kirby will be facilitating. The sign-up list is up. Join us for some coffee, snacks and great fellowship.  Every Sunday from 10:15 - 11:00

Yard Signs : Yard signs promoting our church are still available on Sunday mornings outside the sanctuary. The cost is $10. Or you can contact the church office to buy one. E-MAILING THE NEWSLETTER

Direct Bill Pay

If you are like me, you hate to write checks and try to remember bills each month especially when you are on vacation or away. The finance committee would like to encourage you to set up a direct bill pay through your bank so that your tithes and offerings can always reach the church even if you don’t. There are generic forms in the office if you cannot do this online. If you have any questions, please speak with Bruce Gosling, chair of finance.
